Tenside

Colorful soap bubbles delight us since our childhood days.

Thin soap films viewed under a microscope show a tremendous intensive colour tournament. Highly saturated interference colours guarantee an acute adventure.

Seifenfilm

Interference colours correspond with the film thickness of the soap film. The image above shows a soap film on a small wire frame. The thickness of the film showing interference colours of first order (I) is about 100 to 200 Nanometer.

Lochträger

Watching the soap film under a microscope requires a "hole-carrier" and incident lighting to see the interfering colours. Using a 5x or 10x objective gives magnifications between 40x and 100x.
